Introduction to the PTS Registration form
The PTS Registration form allows external users to register their clean energy systems in PTS, with CEC Admin’s approval.
This document aims to provide the registrant guidance to complete Equipment tab of the registration form.
The form consists of basic information about the system addresses, contact information, contained equipment, and installation information. These are all labeled as separate tabs in the form (as in figure A1 below), for better visibility.

Information in Equipment tab is driven by the system technology and sub technology type. When completing the registration form, the registrant can select the technology and sub technology in System|Site tab. See figure A2 below.
Figure A2
Figure A3 below shows the equipment components required for each system sub technology type:

****Note ******
Non-Energy Storage technology contains pre-determined equipment and does not require registrants to provide detailed manufacturers and models. This training manual will exclude Non-Energy Storage systems.
Initial Submission - Steps to complete the equipment tab in PTS Registrations form:
Step 1:
In Equipment tab, press the + icon next to the equipment to create a new entry. See figure A4 below.

Step 2:
Registrants can take the following actions to complete the equipment tab:
- Select the manufacturer and model from the dropdown list. Registrants can type characters to search from the dropdown. See figure A5 below, as an example.
Figure A5 - Select the manufacturer from the dropdown and add a new model by selecting Other option. Upon selecting Other option, registrants can enter the new model in the text field, for CEC Admin’s review. See Figure A6 below, as an example.
Figure A6 - Add a new manufacturer and model by selecting Other option. Upon selecting Other option, registrants can enter the new model in the text field, for CEC Admin’s review. See Figure A7 below, as an example.
Figure A7 - Select a new manufacturer and model that the registrant created as part of a previous registration.
- For example, in figure A7 above, the registrant created a new inverter manufacturer and model called “Enter new manufacturer”. When a new registration is created from the same registrant’s PTS account, the same manufacturer and model can be seen and selected from the dropdown for that equipment type (inverter, in this example). This feature is to help registrants avoid typing the same manufacturer and model in multiple registrations. See figure A8 below, as an example.

****Note*****
If the registrant selects the same new manufacturer and model in multiple registrations form, any changes to their labels will impact ALL registrations containing this equipment make/model.
For example, if the registrant edits the manufacturer name “Enter a new manufacturer” in the original registration that created it, the name change will reflect in ALL registrations with this manufacturer.
When CEC Admin returns the registration form to the applicant
Registrants can take the following actions to make corrections/edits in the registration form:
- Select the manufacturer and model from the dropdown list. Registrants can type characters to search from the dropdown. See figure A9 below.
Figure A9 - Edit the new manufacturer and/or model in the textboxes. Note that any updates to these fields will impact ALL registrations containing this manufacturer and/or model. See figure A10 below, as an example.
